Responsibility in the supply chain

We sell globally recognised third-party brands as well as the products of our private label company IMTRON. We protect labour and human rights not only within our own operations but also along our supply chains.

Responsible supplier management

Our supplier management is based on clear standards for ethical and sustainable business conduct. The foundation is our Code of Conduct, our Human Rights Policy Statement and our Supplier Code of Conduct. We fulfil the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) through a risk-based approach:

Risk-management system

We aim to identify risks at an early stage and manage them effectively. All human-rights and environmental due-diligence obligations are embedded in a systematic due-diligence framework.

Risk analyses

Each year, we analyse human-rights and environmental risks in our own operations and across our supply chain. For suppliers with an elevated risk profile, we seek contractual assurances of compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct or an equivalent standard.

Prevention

We anchor binding minimum standards in our supplier contracts. Sustainability is an integral part of how we select, assess and manage our suppliers. For suppliers with elevated risk, we use enhanced Supplier Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ) to identify critical human-rights and environmental risks at an early stage and to introduce targeted preventive measures. Training ensures that our employees are informed about all legal requirements.

Whistleblower system for human rights and environmental protection

In line with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), we provide a whistleblower system that allows employees and third parties to easily report human-rights or environment-related risks and violations within our own operations or along our supply chain. We follow up on every report and work with our suppliers to improve the respective conditions.

You can find more information in our Rules of Procedure.

Supplier management for our private labels

Our private label company IMTRON operates its own supplier management system. It is aligned with CECONOMY’s guidelines and applies equally to its wholly owned subsidiaries IMTRON Asia Hong Kong, IMTRON Electronics Spain and IMTRON Italia.

The IMTRON Purchasing Policy defines minimum requirements for products and product-related services. A binding component of all product-related purchasing contracts is the Supplier Code of Conduct, which, since fiscal year 2023/24, has been based on the standards of amfori BSCI. Successful participation in the amfori BSCI social compliance system is a mandatory prerequisite for any order.

"Networks accelerate the transformation towards a more sustainable economy."

We participate in leading industry initiatives. As a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), we commit to the internationally recognised standards of the RBA Code of Conduct, which provides a framework for responsible business practices in global supply chains. IMTRON is part of the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), which works globally to promote fair working conditions and protect workers’ rights in production facilities.

Both initiatives are key elements of our supplier relationships and support our efforts to promote and continuously improve responsible and fair practices throughout the supply chain.
