
Corporate Citizenship
We take responsibility beyond our core business. We are active in all countries in which our national subsidiaries operate, at the locations of our stores, and at our headquarters in Ingolstadt.
In recent years, we have further developed our corporate citizenship activities. What began as a reactive approach has evolved into proactive engagement. We focus on socially relevant issues where our products and expertise can help create more opportunities for people.

Digital inclusion
Digital education and access to technology are essential for participating in today’s connected world – both professionally and in everyday life. This is where we can create the greatest social impact by helping ensure that everyone can be part of the digital world.
One example is the MediaWorld Labs project run by our Italian subsidiary, which supports people in the flood-affected Emilia-Romagna region. Schools were provided with technical equipment to enable a successful restart and strengthen digital skills. The project has since been expanded to additional schools. In Spain, our employees volunteer to help older people navigate digital technology safely through workshops and one-to-one support – also helping to reduce social isolation. And in Ingolstadt, we supported the “Digital für alle” initiative, which advises people with different disabilities and provides them with accessible technology such as tablets equipped with communication tools.

Local engagement
Our stores are deeply rooted in their regions. Store managers decide independently which organisations they support with monetary or technology donations. This enables long-term partnerships and allows rapid assistance in emergency situations.
Corporate citizenship is also firmly embedded in our culture at our headquarters in Ingolstadt. A particular focus is our annual employee donation campaign: every year, our colleagues donate several tens of thousands of euros to non-profit organisations in the region — an amount that the company doubles. In recent years, this has helped fund projects such as an inclusive playground, a support centre for women affected by homelessness and the establishment of a media education centre. In addition, we often provide swift and straightforward support when approached by regional organisations.
A cornerstone of our engagement is our long-standing main partnership with ERC Ingolstadt. Through this, we not only strengthen the attractiveness of the region but also support the club’s “Goals for Kids” charity initiative and its fan club for people with disabilities.

Emergency relief
Crises such as COVID-19, the war in Ukraine or the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria call for swift and straightforward action. In such situations, we provide direct support where it is needed most.
One example: When a devastating earthquake struck large parts of southeastern Türkiye in February 2023, we acted quickly together with our Turkish subsidiary. Within days, the first relief supplies were delivered by truck to the affected regions. In the longer term, we support reconstruction through a comprehensive education-focused initiative. Together with the Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV), one of the country’s leading education organisations, we help children in disaster areas through mobile learning units. These trucks bring lessons directly to them. We operate four of these units, equipped with learning modules on IT, art and creativity. The four-year sponsorship aims to provide more than 24,000 children with access to education and digital learning — opening up new perspectives for their future.
